Dear Friends in Christ,
I want to thank everyone who was nominated and ran for the Pastoral Council this year. Congratulations to Rob, Andrew, Selam, and Christian who all won a close election this year. I think we are the only Church I know of that now has three council members under the age of 21. That is a great sign for our Church and speaks of a renewal of the faith in our young people today. Wasn’t it wonderful to hear Benjamin speak at all the Masses last week? He did a great job introducing our theme of Advent this year, “You Light the Way.”
Just a quick little story about the generosity of our parish. In last week’s homily I mentioned that I love Christmas lights but never have the time or energy to put them up. That night as I was going back to the rectory I went right by the house because I didn’t recognize it. Someone had put up Christmas lights! I was so happy! Next week’s homily will be about my favorite cars, just kidding.
Last weekend we also took up a special collection for diapers, formula, and baby wipes. We called it “Pack the Pack and Play.” Did you know we packed the equivalent of over 12 Pack and Plays?! We might have to rent a truck to get all the donations to the charities. Thank you so much for your selfless giving, which is truly a hallmark of our parish.
Just a reminder that the Immaculate Conception is on Monday and we have Mass at 8:30am and 7pm. Also 12 hours of confessions are on Thursday, 11 December.
