Dear Friends in Christ,
Welcome to our first annual Stewardship Sunday! In our pastoral plan outline based on our Journeying Forward in Hope this weekend is described as a weekend to celebrate our parish and invite all parishioners to plan their financial support of SKD prayerfully and intentionally. That is exactly what this weekend is all about. This is not about an ask; it is about an invitation. We think we have something really special here at SKD. We have a great plan for the next three years and beyond and an audacious goal to be the best Catholic parish we can possibly be and a model and example throughout our whole Church of a vibrant, creative, and healthy parish. We have a lot to be grateful for here and that is the most important motivation for giving. We also have big dreams and hope for the future. We know that prayerfully prioritizing stewardship and financial support of our Church is the key to realizing these dreams. It is exciting seeing us realize our pastoral plan and fulfilling our mission. This can make us truly joyful in our selfless giving. What could we do for example with the possibility of affording an associate priest? or a revamped welcome center desk? Not to mention the long-term goal of new offices, meeting spaces, updated technology, and a social hall connected to our beautiful Church that is turning 10 years old next year.
I want to thank you so much for your support and for prayerfully prioritizing and planning your giving here at SKD by looking at percentage giving and progressing when you can. After Mass this weekend, let’s join together in hospitality and look at the options of electronic giving and other services to help plan financially for your future and ours. Most of all let’s celebrate this great parish and give thanks to God!
