Dear Friends in Christ,
Hopefully the next time you see me I will be the “tennis champion of the world”. That is what a group of friends and I call the MVP of a little tournament we have every year in Toledo, OH. The four of us have gotten together every year since our Ordination and it is a lot of fun. I will be away this week, but will remember you in my daily prayers and ask for yours.
When I get back school will be getting ready to start and I’m so excited. I’m also super excited about our Faith Formation season getting ready to start. Have you or your family registered yet?
I wanted to share with you what one of our young people, Suhely shared in our pastoral council meeting a few weeks ago. She mentioned that there was a lot of excitement building in our growing youth group. The young people of our parish are looking to get involved in ministry. Nothing is more wonderful for a pastor to hear! It would be great to have more youth as lectors, EM’s, and we always need more altar servers, but I think she is also speaking into the desire of our youth to be part of all the areas of our parish life. If you are the leader of a ministry, you might want to talk to Ana Maria Alvarado about recruiting some eager young people or inviting them to be part of your ministry. Be prepared when we do so to welcome their new energy and fresh ideas. God Bless you!
