Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Aug 11, 2024

Dear Friends in Christ,

On Tuesday, 13 August we will celebrate the feast day of Blessed Michael McGivney, who was the great priest responsible for starting the Knights of Columbus.  This is a fraternal order of Catholic men who are committed to empowering all to live their faith at home, in their parish, at work, and in their community.  It was also founded to help provide aid and assistance to those who were in need and their families.  It is a very good organization that does so much for our Church, world, and our local parish community.  They also offer really good life insurance.

I’ve met with our Knights of Columbus here at SKD and they are a wonderful bunch of guys.  They are always willing to do just about anything to help the parish.  You will see them a lot as we get ready for our big parish picnic on the 8th of September.  If you are interested in checking out the Knights of Columbus and seeing if you would like to become a member, please let me know.

Speaking of great groups that serve the needs of the parish, I’ve had a chance to also meet with our Finnance Committee and our Pastoral Council.  Wow!  They do such great work and are amazing.  Please pray about running for our Pastoral Council this year or who you might like to nominate.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Fr. Matt
