The Katharine Konnection

November Remembrance

Dear Parishioners,

We remember our faithfully departed throughout the month of November.  The Catholic church celebrates All Saints Day 1 November and All Souls Day 2 November.

At Saint Katharine’s, we remember our loved ones who have died within the past year with a Memorial Mass and Commemoration of All the Faithfully Departed.

Our annual Memorial Mass is scheduled for Thursday 9 November 2023 at 7:00PM.  Invitations to the Mass have been mailed to parishioners who we know have experienced a loss within the past year. If you did not receive an invitation and would like to remember a loved one at the Memorial Mass, please contact me at theresa.anderson@saintdrexel.org by Friday 3 November 2023.  To have your loved one’s name read at the Mass we ask that you be present at the Mass.

The Memorial Mass will be live streamed. Family and friends who are unable to attend can access the live stream on our YouTube channel.

Another way to remember loved ones who have passed within the year is in the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed.  Submit your loved one’s name and month of passing using the form found in the bulletin on 14/15 October  and 21/22 October  or from our website saintdrexel.org  The names on the form will be honored in a special litany at all Masses the weekend of 4/5 November.   Names are due in the parish office by 30 October 2023.

Finally, if you wish to commemorate a loved one who passed prior to this year, you may use the All-Souls envelope or the Book of the Dead that remains in the church throughout the month of November.

Blessings,

Theresa
