Our parish is participating in the local 40 Days for Life observance which is starting on 27 September. There are various ways to participate in encouraging a culture of life (starting with simply praying…) and so please use the contact information that is included in the bulletin to become more involved. For many years, the Marriage Encounter program has deepened the love of many couples with a special faith perspective. It is not a program for troubled marriages, but if you would like to bring new life to a relationship that may have settled into a routine, this program can be very helpful—as many of our own parishioners can attest! The bulletin has information about an upcoming nearby weekend retreat in October.
We are currently organizing special sessions this fall to prepare young people (ages 7-11) who have never been baptized to celebrate this sacrament. If you would like your children to be welcomed into the Christian Community through Baptism, please consult the informational insert in the bulletin this weekend.
Our African Faith Community is holding their annual “Taste of Africa” event in October. You may get tickets by scanning the QR code on a bulletin insert this weekend, or stopping by their table after Mass in the narthex. Also starting in October, our Environmental Stewardship committee is offering a four-part monthly discussion on Pope Francis’ encyclical “Laudato Si” (“On the Care of Creation”.) Registration information is available in the bulletin.
This weekend our Foundations of Faith core Faith Formation program starts on Sunday evening at 5:30 PM. You are invited to join your fellow parishioners in continuing faith formation through the various programs being offered this fall.
