Saint Katharine Drexel is celebrating its 8th year of partnership with St. Hubert Parish in Ennery, Haiti.
Our parish partnership with St. Hubert started in 2014. The 16th October bulletin insert provides details about this past year’s support of St. Hubert Parish by Saint Katharine Drexel Parish.
It’s quite normal for things which the Haiti Partnership Committee are working on with St. Hubert to take some time to accomplish. We need to hear about the need, consider whether we can meet it and then work with Father Faubert Charles to help make something happen. On top of the usual challenges, circumstances during most of 2022 in Haiti have included fuel shortages, food and security challenges, and limited availability of needed supplies for daily life.
With this in mind, we were so overjoyed when we learned in late July 2022, just one month after we provided funding, that a new generator, solar panels and backup batteries were in place and working at St. Hubert. The solar panels in particular have been a blessing as fuel shortages continue to plague Haiti.
We received a video made of the work done to install the new electric supply system and found joy in this presentation of the job so quickly accomplished. Click HERE for the video
We hope you enjoy it and feel the joy of Father Faubert and the parishioners of St. Hubert for the blessing of this system made possible by your contributions. (Our apology in advance for not providing a translation of the French slide titles used in the video. We hope those of you who know French will share with others!)
The second collection this weekend (22-23 October) will provide funding to continue our assistance to our partner parish. Thank you in advance for all you do and please remember to include Haiti and our brothers and sisters there in your prayers.
