Father Keith Boisvert
It brings me great joy as a pastor to witness what can happen when a faith community purposefully journeys into the future. The words "animator" and "overseer" come to mind when reflecting on my role as the spiritual leader of this dynamic Christian community. An animator (from the French "animateur") is one who is stimulating and inspiring-- one who brings life. Each day I try to bring spirit and life to the vision and mission that has been set for us by the Pastoral Council. One who is an overseer strives to bring many different staff members, committees, ministries, organizations, and involved parishioners into unity according to that vision and mission. But the thing which brings me the most satisfaction as a priest is accompanying people on their spiritual journey as they grow closer to God through Christ. I am inspired over and over again in witnessing the real presence of Christ active in our midst.
I do my best to discern Christ at work in our parish, and to join Him as His ordained servant in building up the Body of Christ—through ministering sacraments, sacramentals, prayer, and example – so that the Body of Christ may give witness to and evangelize the world. I focus my efforts on the Gospels, which every deacon is ordained to read, preach, teach, and live. I love the exciting interplay of combining my sacramental calls to husband and father with my call to serve as deacon. I am blessed to receive Christ’s love through my wife and children, and His support through our parish.
My areas of ministry include young adult, marriage prep and enrichment, baptism prep, social justice, catechesis, and our website and social media. I am driven by a passion for passing on the timeless teachings of God through new and exciting ways. I love the vitality of our parish, and how clearly I see the Body of Christ present in our community.
As Music Coordinator, my duties include scheduling musicians, selecting music for parish liturgies, liturgical planning, and conducting rehearsals. All of this is done with the goal of fostering full, active, and conscious liturgical participation. I'm incredibly blessed to be able to do something I love - make music - with such a talented group of volunteers.
As Business Manager, my role is to ensure the parish practices good stewardship of the financial, material, & human resources supported through our parishioners’ gifts of treasure, and in keeping with our mission of ‘giving selflessly’. My joy in joining the parish staff in 2006 was the opportunity to align my professional skills and interests with my personal exploration of faith. It has been enormously gratifying to work with so many selfless individuals in the ministries that compose the Saint Katharine Drexel faith community.
As the front line of the front office I handle the administrative needs of Fr. Keith, produce the bulletin each week, schedule rooms and meetings, and generally keep the parish office running smoothly.
As administrative assistant to the pastoral staff I support the work of faith formation and sacramental preparation. In addition, I am the staff support for the capital campaign. What I enjoy most about my job is being part of a wonderful, loving community and working with such great people on staff.
Ana Maria Alvarado
My role at Saint Katherine Drexel includes middle school and high school youth ministry, being the main coordinator for TGIF, which encompasses catechists coordination, faith formation for grades pre K – 8th, adult faith formation and our FIRE program. I have wonderful volunteers who also assist by leading several ministries where I am the staff member in charge - these include RCIA, Kate’s Kids, Vacation Bible School, and First Reconciliation/First Communion prep. St. Augustin said, “The Catholic education not only requires members of the religion to follow the example of Jesus Christ but also of all holy men and women who led virtuous lives and set a model code of conduct for others. In Catholicism, education is a lifelong process of personal and spiritual growth and development”. My goal is to provide an opportunity for all members of our community to grow closer to God, wherever they may be in their spiritual journey.
Coordinator of Immigrant Outreach and Formation
As the Coordinator for Immigrant Outreach and Formation my primary role is to support families immigrating to the USA and help them find a place in our community. I assist with bridging the cultural and religious divide that some of our reach immigrants feel and make sure they feel welcome in our parish.
