Together Growing in Faith(TGIF)
Together Growing in Faith (TGIF) is a whole community approach to religious education available to every parish household. TGIF meets on Sunday evenings and begins at 5:30 PM with a brief prayer service followed by faith formation sessions for all ages.
Children and Young Adult Program
Children & youth attend their grade-respective classes (pre-K through grade 12). Nursery care is available for infants & toddlers. Each evening concludes at 7:00 PM. As an intergenerational program, a parent/ guardian must accompany children to this program.
Adults attend general session presentations on various faith topics, attend mini-courses, or participate in small group break-out options. Our 2019-2020 TGIF year will begin in September and are excited to have some great options for our adults. This year there are two roads open to our adults. They are…
1. Choose one of our two full-year options. These are Sacred Time-out (women only) and Scripture Study. You will attend these through the program year enjoying the chance to spend time deepening your experience alongside other parishioners in your chosen group.
2. Choose our general session and mini-course option. For this option, you are invited to enjoy general session speakers and choose among mini-courses options over the course of the program year
Each adult participating in TGIF needs to sign up for an adult formation option through the form above.
PLEASE NOTE: Scripture Study can be chosen as a full-year option or as a mini-course. See below for full descriptions of our adult formation options for the Fall.
Sacred Time-out (Facilitated by Lisa McCrohan) – Full year
Gather with other women for a centering practice integrating gentle and invigorating yoga movement and Catholic prayer, song, reflection, and meditation. No experience necessary, no flexibility required. Relax, strengthen, and enjoy simple ways of stretching your body and lightening your heart. Come regroup, recharge, and reconnect to yourself, your prayer life, your community, and God.
Scripture Study: The Sunday Readings (Facilitated by Deacon Kevin Kulesa)
Scripture study is offered as a small group opportunity throughout the year. It is designed for adults desiring to make time for scripture study in their busy lives. Participants are encouraged to spend twenty minutes per day in personal study utilizing a provided Study Guide and Commentary. This small group gathering is an opportunity to pray, share responses to the study questions, and reflect communally on the assigned readings. Multiple groups are available, held on a variety of days and times. One group is held during our TGIF Faith Formation program on Sunday evenings from 5:30-7:00PM
For those who are interested in a small group in- depth study on particular topics pertinent to our faith, we offer brief five session adult mini-courses over the winter. Past courses have included Church History, Science and Religion, Dante’s Divine Comedy, Stress-Reduction for Catholics, Faith and Finance, Catholic Social Teaching, and many more. Our courses for this year are being arranged and we welcome ideas for topics and speakers. These courses are held in conjunction with our TGIF Faith Formation Program on Sunday evenings from 5:30-7:00PM, but you are welcome to register for a mini-course even if you do not register for the full year of TGIF. Details regarding course topics and dates will be publicized as they approach.
