Finance Committee Quarterly Report
Upon review of the second quarter financial results, the Finance Committee must report a small operating deficit ($-2,459) as of 31 December. However, it should be note that while we are reporting a deficit, the year to date loss is much lower than the loss for the same period last year ($-19,426).
We are able to report an increase in offertory of 11% in comparison to the same period last year, but only 98% of budget. The difficulty the Finance Committee faced was anticipating utility expenses and other operating costs for the new building. These expenses are coming in at 99% of budget.
We are looking to the upcoming months to break even, based on a preliminary review of the financials for January. However, our optimism is tempered knowing that we must realize the necessary funds to cover our upcoming mortgage payments.
We continue to marvel at the beauty of our new worship space and welcome the new families that have joined us.
Respectfully submitted by the Finance Committee
