Finance Committee Quarterly Report
Financially, the end of the second quarter was effectively breakeven. We have realized a revenue gain of 6% over budget, however, we are mindful of the colder temperatures which will have an impact on increased expenses for utilities and snow removal. The remaining expenses are in line with the budget. We are grateful for the staff’s efforts in working to maintain costs.
While we have realized an increase in offertory collections, we are concerned with the level of electronic giving as it has remained flat. Electronic giving allows us to forecast a reliable stream of revenue and is consistent month over month. For individual parishioners, electronic giving is easy to set up by contacting Kathy Tolino in the parish office. It allows parishioners to support our parish regardless of missing Mass due to the weather, health or vacation. For those parishioners who worry about finding the checkbook or the weekly envelope, we encourage you to consider electronic giving.
Finally, at year-end we received donations from parishioners who made one-time gifts towards the building fund along with memorial gifts. These will be utilized to make an additional payment toward the building mortgage.
