Welcome to Bishop Adam Parker who joins us at the 5:00 PM Saturday Mass this weekend to confirm 23 of our teen parishioners. We pray that their lives may now reveal more vibrantly the presence of God’s Holy Spirit in their daily actions. We also welcome Deacon Christopher Yeung who is serving as deacon and homilist at both Sunday Masses. Deacon Chris is serving now as the Archbishop’s delegate to the parishes of the Western Vicariate.
The second collection next weekend is for the improvement of the historic cemetery that is located in the grove of trees west of the large parking lot. We continue to develop this area as a prayer garden (with a labyrinth and benches and restored headstones), and plan to construct a columbarium for parishioners who wish to inter their ashes here on parish grounds. Many thanks for your support of this project!
If you are planning to use Gift Cards as Christmas presents this year, please consider using the order form in the bulletin this weekend to purchase them and help our Mortgage Fund. Also in the bulletin this weekend is a “Thank You” note from Saint Katharine’s order of Sisters for the support they received from our parish through last year’s Annual Appeal rebate grant.
We will be voting for four new members of the Pastoral Council during Mass on the weekend of 9/10 November. The candidates’ resumes are posted both in the narthex and on our parish website. I hope you will review them prayerfully in order to vote for our future parish leadership in an informed manner.
Thanks to all who remembered to bring items to Mass for Heartly House during the month of October. I look forward to seeing everyone at our holyday celebration of the Feast of All Saints this week on Friday 1 November, with Masses at 8:30 AM and 7:00 PM. Also, please remember in your prayers staff member Theresa Anderson, whose mother Pat Mateusiak died in Pittsburg this past week.
