I am very pleased to be able to invite you to visit our new parish website! In response to one of our Pastoral Council goals, staff member Stuart Henderson has been working overtime to revamp our website at www.saintdrexel.org. Many things are now possible through our website that were not possible in the past—as you will hear about in the coming weeks. We are grateful to Stuart for all his efforts, and thanks to Pastoral Council member Dennis Ottey and his IT company for all the direction and support they have given to this project.
The Unity Campaign in Frederick each year during the month of September (9/11-22) supports 32 non-profit agencies who assist our most vulnerable neighbors. One of those non-profits is our own St. Vincent de Paul Society, who can be specifically designated as a recipient of your donation. Please consider this option when contributing to the Unity Campaign this month. A bulletin insert this week provides a contribution form for your convenience.
We have about 60 people signed up for our next parish trip to Australia and New Zealand this winter. This is a joint parish trip with the Church of the Resurrection in Ellicott City. There is one final opportunity (if you have not signed up already) to obtain information about the various options this Saturday 14 September at 7:00 PM in the school Media Center. Please call the number listed in this bulletin if you plan to attend the meeting.
Our faith community tries to reach out to its members at various stages of the life cycle. Our Children’s Ministries (featured on the front cover of this bulletin) support families with young children, and our Elder Outreach Network (featured on an insert with related services) attempts to support our senior parishioners in their special needs. Many thanks to parishioner Edi Stewart for her leadership in organizing our Elder Outreach Network ministry.
